Event

Retransmission of the Kagyu Monlam at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling

From 15th to 21st December 2024.

Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to Dhagpo Kundreul Ling to take part in the retransmission of the Kagyu Monlam 2024, which will take place from 15th to 21st December.

This 22nd edition of the Kagyu Monlam will be held in Bodhgaya, India, the place where Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment. Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will lead the aspiration prayers under the Bodhi tree, accompanied by the main lamas of the lineage.

For the fifth consecutive year, we will join, from the Main Temple of Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, in the aspiration prayers of Karmapa and the monastic sangha. Gendun Rinchen will be present for this accumulation.

The Kagyu Monlam is a precious moment when we can practise in unison, monastics and laypeople, in Asia as in the West, gathered around the prayers of wishes and Karmapa.

May this opportunity to connect with the deep aspirations of the buddhas and bodhisattvas be a source of great benefit to the world and all beings.

The King of Prayers

A Commentary on the Noble King of Prayers of Excellent Conduct

Bird of Paradise Press

In December 2009, on the occasion of the Kagyu Monlam, Shamar Rinpoche gave an explanation on the wishing prayer of Samantabhadra, the prayer accumulated during the Kagyu Monlam.
Reading his published commentary entitled “The Noble King of Prayers of Excellent Conduct” allows the practitioners to familiarise with this prayer and to understand its meaning more deeply.
