Event

6th Retransmission of the Kagyu Monlam at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling

From 15th to 21st December 2025

Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to Dhagpo Kundreul Ling to take part in the retransmission of the Kagyu Monlam 2025, which will take place from 15th to 21st December.

As every year, the 23rd edition of the Kagyu Monlam will be held in Bodhgaya, India, the place where Shakyamuni Buddha reached enlightenment. His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, and His Eminence the 4th Jamgon Kongtrul, Mingyur Drakpa Senge, will lead the prayers of aspiration under the Bodhi tree, accompanied by the main lamas of the lineage.

For the sixth consecutive year, and in the presence of Gendun Rinchen, the monastic and lay sangha of Dhagpo Kundreul Ling will join Karmapa, Jamgon Rinpoche, and thousands of practitioners gathered for this occasion in prayers of aspiration from the Main Temple.

In these troubled and difficult times, the Kagyu Monlam is a precious moment when we can practise together and cultivate, in the presence of the great masters of the lineage, the altruistic motivation of love and compassion for world peace and the end of suffering for all beings.

May this opportunity to connect with the profound aspirations of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas be a source of great benefit for all.

The King of Prayers

A Commentary on the Noble King of Prayers of Excellent Conduct

Bird of Paradise Press

In December 2009, on the occasion of the Kagyu Monlam, Shamar Rinpoche gave an explanation on the wishing prayer of Samantabhadra, the prayer accumulated during the Kagyu Monlam.
Reading his published commentary entitled “The Noble King of Prayers of Excellent Conduct” allows the practitioners to familiarise with this prayer and to understand its meaning more deeply.
