Announcement for the kind attention of all Monasteries, Dharma Centers and devotees.<\/p>\n

In accordance with the gracious advice and instructions of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, the 23rd Kagyu Monlam will be held from December 15th to 21st, 2025 in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India.<\/p>\n

As always, the Kagyu Monlam will bring together thousands of devotees, monks, nuns, and revered venerable under the sacred Bodhi Tree, the place where the Buddha Shakyamuni attained enlightenment. Together, we will recite the King of Aspiration Prayers, dedicating the merit to The flourishing of the Buddha Dharma in general and the Karma Kagyu lineage in particular. Further for world peace and the pacification of diseases, suffering and conflicts, moreover bringing the well-being of all sentient beings. <\/p>\n

On behalf of the Kagyu Monlam Organizing Committee, I warmly invite you to join this profound and auspicious gathering. May our collective prayers create boundless merit and blessings for all beings. <\/p>\n

We are happy to announce that the annual Kagyu Monlam will take place again in December in Bodhgaya, the site of the historical Buddha\u2019s supreme enlightenment more than 2,500 years ago. All sessions will be streamed on Karmapa\u2019s website. <\/p>\n

The Kagyu Monlam is the highlight of the Dharma calendar, where monks, nuns and lay practitioners from India and around the world gather in the shade of the Bodhi Tree to offer special aspiration prayers for the benefit of all sentient beings.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Kagyu Monlam will take place from the 15th to 21st December 2024 and it will be the 22nd Kagyu Monlam since 1996, when the late Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche gathered the resources for all Karma Kagyu practitioners to come together for the first time at the sacred venue of Bodhgaya.<\/p>\n

The 17th<\/sup> Karmapa will once again lead the aspiration prayers, joined by many Rinpoches<\/em>, Khenpos<\/em> and Lamas.<\/p>\n

The main prayer recited at the Kagyu Monlam is known as the \u2018King of Aspiration Prayers<\/em>\u2019 or the \u2018Samantabhadra Wishing Prayer\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As Karmapa has said:<\/p>\n

Let us use these days of the Kagyu Monlam to fully express our human nature by joining in the perfect aspirations of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, without any sense of a mission to accomplish, without any doubt or hesitation, but with whole-hearted enjoyment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
